Happy Saturday (Summary of the Last Few Days)

Hi Everyone,

Sorry for not posting as much latey - but the last three nights have been interesting. Three nights ago, I had my worst night ever! I pretty much woke up every two hours. It was so bad that Mommy had a headache that lasted a couple days. Sorry Mommy! She wasn't too happy with me - but I think she understands that I'm only 4.5 months old and that I'm really cute - so she has to give me some slack, right?:)

Two nights ago, things were a little bit better. I only woke up twice at night (I think at 1am and 4am). It still wasn't great, but much better than the night before. By 7am, I was still snoozing - but Mommy came in to wake me because she wanted to "tank" me up before heading out to work. I took the bottle - but unfortunately, the bottle leaked all over my sleep sack. So when Mommy changed my clothes, I couldn't go back to sleep. Btw, earlier that evening, I had a date with my friend Lucian at Stacy's coffee shop. Unfortunately, Lucian and I are too young to drink coffee. It was nice seeing Lucian and Aunt Amy again. I wasn't able to play with Lucian too much because he was snoozing. But it was still nice to see him.

The next day, Friday, Lucian and his Daddy (aka Mr. Mom) came over to give Mommy some advice on how to help me with my sleep. Even though Lucian is younger than me (3 weeks and a day), he's been sleeping thru the night for the last month or two. I think Mommy got some good advice and tips to help me. Also, I had a really good time hanging out with Lucian. We gave each other face kisses. Oh -I'm so embarrassed - my first sort of kiss with a boy! And I did it in front of Mommy!

I also spent some time with Aunt Sara and cousin Bailey. Aunt Sara made some delicious breakfast food for Mommy and I hung out in the TV room with a Baby Einstein DVD. I really like Baby Einstein!

Moving on to last night. Well after talking to Uncle Brandon and Aunt Amy, Mommy decided to delay my feedings. In other words, she decided to feed me only when I was legitimately hungry. In the past, Mommy always gave me a bottle to soothe me when I was fussy and to help put me to sleep. But this time, Mommy decided to only feed me at certain times of the day and to wait longer stretches between feedings. Mommy fed me around 7:50pm. Also, in this bottle - Mommy put in two tablespoons of rice cereal (the most that I've ever had in one bottle). I took the full bottle (about 6 ozs.) with the cereal and I went to bed immediately. I woke up at 11pm - but only for a minute or two. Daddy thought that I might be hungry, so he tried to feed me, but I took less than 1/2 an ounce - yeah,I wasn't really hungry. After that, I slept until 4:40am - a 5 hour stretch - the longest stretch that I've had in a really long time. Mommy fed me 6 ozs. and I was snoozing again by 5am. I slept until 8:30am. Wow - I felt very well rested when I woke up. I think I could have done without the 11pm feeding - so I may have been able to sleep thru the night. We'll try again tonight. Need to give a shout out thanks to Uncle Brandon & Aunt Amy for the delayed feeding tip and a shout out thanks to Aunt Kerri for the cereal tip!

Today, Mommy & Daddy are going to take me the American Cafe for lunch/dinner. I'm excited because this will be my first time at the Fair Oaks Mall. I think I'm definitely a mall girl. Sorry Daddy - I'm pretty sure I'm going to burn a hole in wallet on day! Hopefully by the time that I start doing any serious damage, the real estate market will be on a up swing again. Mommy says that it seems to happen every 10-15 years - which means that by then I'll really be into the mall!
