Wednesday Pic and General Summary of My Development at 21 Months

Hi Everyone,

I'm sorry that I haven't been able to post more pictures of myself lately, but it's been hard for Mommy to take any photos since I get REALLY interested in playing with her camera once she brings it out. But here is one that she got of me today:



Also, I wanted to take this time to write a little bit about my development at 21 months. I should be doing this more often since this blog is kind of like my baby book/journal, but I'm a very busy girl and it's difficult for me to keep up. OK, so here is my summary:

My Words (about 50 so far):
Balloon, mommy, daddy, papa, mama, apple, tree, juice, baby, bibimpop (usually says “bipop”), car, Elmo, Ernie, bubbles, pepper, puppy, kitty (says “titi”), bunny (usually says “Mommy”), ball (says “car” for ball), shoe, socks, eye, ear, head, poo, pee, pineapple, octagon, oval, rectangle, circle, shell, jeans, eat, up, out, play, flower, bee, bird, two, eight, strawberry, yellow, banana (says “nana”), seat, belly, pepper, owl, cereal, uh-oh, bear, stairs, star, no, cookies, pizza

Sounds:
Moo, baa, woof, meow, beep beep, vroom-vroom, choo-choo, quack-quack. I also snort for the pig sound.

Names:
I can say Jackie, Abby, Alex (I say it "Ahex"), Elmo, Ernie, Burt, Big Bird

Letters:
Can identify all letters, and can say all of them except R, U, W, and Y

Numbers:
So far, just 2, 8, and 9. Maybe I'm just not a math person?

Sign Language:
I can do the signs for more, bath, and milk. These were the only signs that Mommy & Daddy have taught me.

Favorite Activities:
Dancing (with or without music). Lately, I have really gotten into dancing with Mommy. So I definitely need a dance partner.
Watching Sesame Street (my favorite show).
Playing on the piano.
Going up and down the stairs.

Favorite Book:
Bee-bim Bop!

Favorite Toys:
Tricycle (the one from Mom Mom Mom), puzzles, books in general (love reading and flipping through them), Laugh & Learn House (an oldy but a goody), bear, puppy, and of course bunny.

Bad Behaviors/Discipline Issues:
I will do these short screams or growl when Mommy/Daddy makes me mad. Also, sometimes I like to ignore Mommy & Daddy when I don't feel like listening to them. Things have to be done on my terms - otherwise, I will not be a happy camper.

Personality:
I have been called "stubborn" by quite a few people. However, I would describe myself as a generally quiet, yet happy girl.

Foods:
I'm still a picky eater. For the most part, I like oranges, strawberries, watermelons, pineapples, carrots, pancakes, muffins (with peanut/almond butter) and sometimes Korean noodles. I can drink from a sippy, but I still like milk in a bottle.

Potty Training:
Not really going well. But I did pee in the bath tub today which is a sign of potty training readiness. Mommy's goal is for me to be potty trained before the "other kid" arrives.

Other Things:
1. I will start shaking my head “no” and fuss when Daddy starts saying the bedtime prayer because I don't want to go to sleep. I now know what's going on!
2. I’m finally starting to get imitation (particularly when it comes to movements to a song)
3. I can use a spoon as long as the food has a very thick consistency.
4. I can follow directions when I feel like it. But often times, I like to ignore Mommy & Daddy.
5. Around 19 months, I finally figured started pointing to all of my parts (or at least the ones that Mommy & Daddy has taught me - i.e. nose, head, belly, ear, eyes, mouth, hands, toes, foot).
