A Day of Examination
Hi Everyone,
I spent this morning examining my toes. And in fact, I do have all of my toes:)
We've been going through a lot of transition lately. First, Mommy's going to stay at home with me full time! Yipee! I'll miss my time with Daddy in the mornings, but we'll just have our "Father-Daughter" time in the evenings since Daddy will be able to come home much sooner now.
Mommy also scheduled a few regular activities for us on Tues., Wed. and Thursday mornings. We're leaving Mondays and Fridays open in case we travel.
Yesterday, I had a fun time at my friend Joey's house. His parents hosted a Labor Day get together. Although I loved my time with Joey, Owen & Madelyn, I ended up getting a lot of mosquito bites (I think 8 in all including several on my face). Unfortunately, I inherited Mommy's "sweet" blood. So we're going to try to stay indoors this week until my bites heal. You can see some of my bites on the pictures above.
I FINALLY mastered the straw. I've been able to take a sippy or a straw cup for a few months, but not consistently. In the past, I would take a couple ounces at the most, but now I can drink a whole cup. Here is a picture of my favorite sippy (thank you Auntie Christy for telling me about this straw sippy - it is the only one that has truly worked for me).

I'm currently 17.5 months. Here are my latest accomplishments (since my 15 month update):
1. I can walk (finally)!
2. I can go up and down the stairs (although I need to use the rails for assistance)
3. I can dance (but only on the stairs - not sure why)
4. I can drink well out of the straw cup
5. I'm finally eating table foods well (I eat all kinds of fruits, waffles, beef, Korean bbq, noodles, banana bread, veggies, etc.) My favorite fruit these days would be oranges.
6. I can point clearly and gesture well (i.e. I'll gesture to the radio, when I want it turned on or to the crib when I want to go to sleep).
7. My receptive language skills have improved and I can follow a lot of simple commands.
8. I can climb up on couches.
9. One of my favorite chores lately is vacuuming. So if anyone needs a good vacuumer, I'm your girl.
10. I'm getting better and better at drinking out of a regular cup.
11. I'm good at throwing the ball
12. I still like to feed my baby doll all kinds of stuff (milk, cookies, crackers, etc.).
13. I'm starting "to get" "head, shoulders, knees and toes." I love music.
14. I'm doing well with my night sleep and my nap.
15. I still have a BIG belly. I'll find out my from doctor at my 18 month if I need to go on a diet. But I think that I'm still OK.
Ok - that's all on my end.
Hope you guys are doing well!
Love,
Jackie
